[Technical Inquiry] Polling Java app with ADAM-6050

Polling Java app with ADAM-6050

Hello,

I need to build a Java application that periodically polls an ADAM-6050 to get Digital Inputs status and at the same verifies that he is still alive and well.

I was thinking to start from the included applet code and extended it to my specs but I am unable to compile the Java code present on the manual.

I have decompiled ModBus.class that I got from one post on the forum (for the ADAM-6060, does it work on a ADAM6050?) but there are references to other classes...

Is there a SDK for Java for the ADAM6050 or is supposed to decompile the classes from the firmware zip?

Can someone refer to a post where the development of Java apps/applets is discussed?

Thank you very much,

Raul Silva

Hello again,

I managed to decompile all relevant classes from the firmware upgrade: ADAM6050, Led and CmdComm. So I am up and running.

Is there any problem using the code from the decompile classes, license wise?

Anyway I still would like to check out any SDK if there is any...

Thanks,

Raul Silva

Hi,

I don't know the licensing of the modbus.class.

Most Java developers use the JAMod library,
http://jamod.sourceforge.net/development/tcp_master_howto.html

Talked about here:

You can use online Java decompiler: http://www.decompiler.com/ to decompile both separate .class files and collections of .class files bundled together in .jar file.
