[Technical Inquiry] Adam-6000 comm feedback

Adam-6000 comm feedback

If 2 Adam-6052 communicate p2p/GCL. input0 on the first Adam-module triggers Output0 on the second Adam-module. Can I set up Output1 on the second Adam-module to go "hi" if it loses contact with Adam-module 1. It's a critical signal so we need to no if the module in the other end is broken or communication is down.

Hi,

No, when using P2P and GCL the ADAM-6000 cannot detect loss of communication.  The outputs will stay in the last position they are commanded to.

OK. I hope Advantech will implement it in new firmware. For critical IO operations this is a must.

Yes you can do this with two ADAM-6000 and GCL

In this example the ADAM-6052 sends "AuxFlag0"
to ADAM-6066 every 5 seconds.
It is set up to two timers in the ADAM-6066 "Time0" which reset "AuxFlag0", "Time0" and "Time1"
every 10 sec.
"Time1" controls Rele2 on ADAM-6066, if it not been reset within 20 secunds it sets the Relay 2 Out High.
