Subject: AIIS-3410P and PCIe PoE frame grabber [Print This Page] Author: luluha Time: 2017-9-6 00:40 Subject: AIIS-3410P and PCIe PoE frame grabber
is it possible to extend the Compact Vision System AIIS-3410P with a frame grabber card PCIE-1674E to connect 4 more PoE cameras?
My cameras need 6W, together 14W. Too much for the PCIe bus. But, the PCIE-1674E has a power connector.
Is it possible to use this power connector inside the AIIS?

PCIe x4 is rated for 25W on the bus. (I don't know much about the AIIS system to know if it has additional restrictions or an available molex connector for ATX power).
The PCIe-1674E is rated to send up to 18W when powered from just the PCIe bus. Author: luluha Time: 2017-9-6 14:33
Yes, I know the restriction of 18 W over PCIe bus.Is there an alternative power source inside the AIIS? Or does anyone know a frame grabber card with 4 PoE ports and external power source? Author: benDOTmorgan Time: 2017-9-6 19:10
14W (your wattage req) < 18W (provided by the PCIe-1674E) which is even less than 25W (the allowable wattage of a x4 slot). So it might just work.
There is no-one else. The headquarters AEs don't visit this site except to publish FAQs.
If you want to ask about the AIIS computer you're are better off calling one of the Advantech offices. http://www.advantech.com/contact/offices/Author: luluha Time: 2017-9-8 18:11
Thank you for your advice!
